Luxury Designer Textiles from Angora Goats
The Goat Company is a farm based business producing a wide range of textiles from the pure Mohair of Angora Goats. Set high on the side of The Black Mountains with outstanding panoramic views this tranquil farmland provides the perfect home for these beautiful goats. Established in 1992 with just eight females and four kids the original concept was to breed a show quality flock and produce designer knitwear. These aims were soon achieved, the flock is now around 100 goats and the Company now produces knitwear, throws, socks, skins ,bags, outer garments and accessories and is shipping goods worldwide. All the product design and the dying is carried out on the farm by Robi Mandley the Company founder, who uses her extensive knowledge of textiles to create exclusive fabrics and garments.
Angora Goats originate in Turkey and were known to exist in biblical times. They produce a beautiful strong, lustrous hair that is lightweight but very warm. Fleeces are sheared twice a year and carefully graded to ensure only the best quality is used. Being a natural fibre it breathes, to be warm in winter and cool in summer. With its ability to dye to vibrant colours and wash beautifully, pure Mohair is in high demand. Our selective breeding and management policy aims to produce the finest natural products 'from grass to garment'
Daren Farm is an organically managed enterprise rearing beef cattle and sheep alongside the goats. On the mountainside above the farm is a designated car park and picnic area with a signed walk to Offas Dyke or for you just sit and enjoy the views.
The shop is open Monday to Saturday 10am till 4.30pm all year. Best to ring ahead of calling at the farm so that one of us will be on hand to greet you.(Sometimes its all hands to a job which may be down on the fields)

I just want to let you know that I purchased socks from you and have tested them on a 2 week trek in Nepal. They not only kept my feet warm and dry but I did not suffer a single rubbing or blister even though treking for up to 8 hours each day. I thoroughly recommend your goathair socks.
Thank you Susan
