Self-catering, holiday cottages in Herefordshire
Luxury green self catering holiday accomodation in the heart of Herefordshire's Golden Valley
Situated between Abbey Dore and Vowchurch in the heart of The Golden Valley, Bacton Green is an ongoing project to renovate what was once known as Bacton Stud, the birthplace of Sprig, winner of the 1927 Grand National.
Sprig's Granary is the first of the old equestrian buildings to be redeveloped and comprises a luxurious three bedroom conversion of the former feedstore.
Carefully renovated to the highest standard, using green technology and modern levels of insulation resulting in the award of a Grade A Energy Performance Certificate, Sprig's Granary is perfect for those who care about the environment, yet still want a warm and cosy holiday.
Sleeping 6 people, Sprig's Granary offers three ensuite double bedrooms, one of which is on the ground floor with easy access and a wet room for those with limited mobility.
A large open plan kitchen and living area together with a conservatory is perfect for relaxing after a day out. There are views across open farmland and a patio garden, accessed via doors in a spectacular full height glazed wall to the rear of the house, is ideal for enjoying the tranquility of the location and late afternoon sunshine.

“What a wonderful place to stay: everything you need and more can be found at this beautiful converted barn. A lot of thought and detail has been put into providing an excellent service – even the washing up liquid plus tea and coffee was provided: totally unexpected. The owners were always available if we needed anything – nothing was too much trouble for them. If you want luxurious accommodation in a rural setting (20 minute drive to Hereford) to get away from it all, then this is the place for you – you will not be disappointed, we weren’t. We will return!!"
Janette from Rayleigh
"A beautiful place to stay for William's (baby) first holiday. Of all the cottage breaks we have had, this has been one of the best. The cottage's decor and amenities were perfect. A relaxing trip for us all. We will be returning in the not too distant future!!"
