July
- The must attend event is the four day Royal Welsh Show everything to see and do from 8am in the morning to 8pm for anyone interested in the Countryside, Arts and Animals.
- Ross Live held annually over a fortnight has a range of literary & musical events to soothe anyone''s soul and ears.
August
- Saturday 1st of August, the Llanthony Show was founded back in 1961. It is one of the only shows of its kind still, completely organised by local volunteers, with no major corporate sponsorship involved. The Show''s popularity is based on local support on a strictly non-commercial basis.
- The Big Chill is more than a music festival, its a way of life.
- Brecon Jazz Festival 7th, 8th, 9th of August 2009 will be a wonderful mix of Great Brits and legendary Jazz stars from across the African continent to share the joy of Jazz in 50 concerts over 3 days.
- Peterchurch Show is a delightful one day event in the heart of the Golden Valley.
- The next Three Choirs Festival is in Hereford, 2009 will be spectacular in Hereford Cathedral.
- Summer Organ Music in Dore Abbey, the Saturday morning Organ Recitals will start on 1st August and run for 5 Saturdays.
September
- h.Art 09 is Herefordshire''s Open Studios event over a fortnight, giving you exclusive access to artists'' studios, workshops & exhibitions.
- 10th of September Galanthus gallery are offering a very special evening enjoy an exhibition preview with a tasting of local cider and wine and follow that with a three-course Herefordshire Fayre Supper. Only £20pp booking is essential, call Alison Evans oon 01981 570506
- The Abergavenny Food Festival 18 & 19th September is a Gourmet''s delight.
October
- If you enjoy real food with flavour then do come to Hereford 24th & 25th October to taste, enjoy and buy mouth watering local foods at the Flavours of Herefordshire Food Festival.
January
- Meet the New Year in with a brisk walk in the mountains setting your priorities for the year ahead. If you are lucky you may wake up to snow covered fields that are an inspiration to everyone.
April
Start of tourist season and Monnow Valley Arts, Rowlestone Ice-cream parlour open their doors and Hopes of Longtown open Sundays.
May
- National Mills Weekend with three in the locality OPEN Dulas, Rowlestone & Clodock.
- The end of May is the time of the world famous Hay on Wye International Literature Festival
- University of the Great Outdoors
- Royal Welsh Smallholders & Garden Festival this growing annual event will be held on the 15th & 16th oy May in 2010.
